Where’s Warhol 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Warhol.SS’ 2017 album Where’s Warhol which was released on September 5th, 2017. The second installment of the series, released on March 11th, 2022, maintains a low profile but brings high amounts of energy and tons of experience. It runs for 45 minutes and 10 seconds, bringing 16 tracks, all equally jam-packed full of smooth, gliding bars and headbanging bass. The Hip hop project reflects the fast-paced, action-loaded lifestyle that Warhol lives; constantly on the road, always working, looking to make money or improvements. Hence the name of the project, as he is always busy and hard to reach. However, he does not paint himself as a saint or a role model and does not shy away from openly sharing his struggles: addiction, poverty, heartbreak, etc. He does, however, emphasize how he is actively fighting to beat these struggles: primarily by working hard and staying focused on himself, his people, and his goals. The production on the album is something else, and it is loaded with placements from producers such as Gmoney, BrentRambo, Staccato, etc. It also has features from DC2Trill & CEO Trayle. The production is hard-hitting and futuristic, with electric melodies and clean 808s. The mixing and mastering across the project are phenomenal. The vocals that Warhol lays are consistent and high in sonic acuity. The combination of auditory facets helps us really feel and understand the lyrical content that Warhol.SS spews on the album.
Scarface
The intro to the album sets the tone with a futuristic, eery beat with bars from Warhol that showcase his lyrical and vocal abilities, painting a bigger picture of his plans for the future.
Big 32
A ruthless track with a hypnotic, heavy-hitting beat and a stream of lines that are both savage and cutting.
Not Goin For It
This one sees Warhol being standoffish and precautious, and mirroring this, the beat is mystical and bass-heavy, with some nice samples in the background.
Enough
A funky cut on which Warhol.SS takes a step back, observing his position in society, his own immediate circles, and amongst his peers; emphasizing the importance of working hard and making money.
Misfit Child
A hypersonic, locked-in, smooth track with a trancey beat and subtle, effective drums. On this, Warhol goes deep into his past, reflecting on some of his harder moments, and telling us about how he copes and perseveres. This song also has a brilliant, high-energy music video directed by sincerely.mizu.
That’s Right
A dissonant, spacey track with a harsh and brutal beat with crushing bass and samples, which has him walking on the beat with subtle, elegant flows.
No Time
The lead single for the album: a cinematic, hard-hitting banger with tight drums and creative, flowing bars. This song is amazing to ride around to.
First Impression
A chill, reflective song that somehow has a very high and low tempo at the same time, which makes for a very cool effect, especially when combined with the verses, which tie the whole thing together.
Wake Up
A high-tempo, fast-paced track that sees Warhol explaining some of his revelations, such as the fact that he can move things with his mind; it is true, we have so much potential, and the capabilities of the human mind are insane.
Blue 42 (feat. CEO Trayle, Dc2trill)
An eery track with a beat that is gloomy and banging, with savage lyrics, delivered in clean flows.
Breaking Bad
First of all, I love this beat. It is a sample of “alasen - ichor”, which XXXTentacion sampled for his track “i spoke to the devil in miami, he said everything would be fine”. The track flips the sample into a high-energy, aggressive, drill-like sound, on which Warhol comes with fast, fluently-delivered bars.
Who Got the Sack
A dominant, assertive track that Warhol.SS spits consistently-delivered, carefree bars over a trippy, hard beat.
Granny House
A cloudy, retrospective track with a beat that is wavy and reminds me of clouds or the sky, this elevates the vibe of the track and matches the energy of Warhol’s lyrics, as he is talking about his past and how he rose to the occasion and made a way.
Strictly Business
A cool, easygoing track on which Warhol.SS goes into depth about how he deals with drama and continues to focus on himself and work hard.
Real Trill
I would say that the title of this track pretty much describes it perfectly, as the beat is quite trill sounding, and the things that he is saying on the track are very real—truthful and honest.
Last Name
The closing track of the album is a distant, bittersweet track that sees Warhol looking back on his past again, and expressing how he has been disrespected, and how he fights that.
Overall, Where’s Warhol 2 is honest, thorough, and substant in lyrical content—life lessons, personal struggles, and tons of experiences—which are all delivered by Warhol.SS in a manner that is very steady but not boring, across the album. The soundscape of the project is very wide, going far into the depths of melody and in many different directions, as well as utilizing a wide range of drums and samples to enhance the unique feel of each individual track. This makes the album motivating, thought-provoking, and pleasant to listen to.
