Two song EPs aren’t particularly common, but I think they’re a great concept. Listening to an EP or album all the way through can be an arduous task, but hearing only a single can leave you wanting more. Highway’s Self Love is an example of a great middle ground between the two, containing two fast-paced tracks that showcase a masterful balance of cohesiveness and variety. The first track, “Self Love”, uses a beat with great electronic brass instruments and erratic drums. The vocal delivery is just as erratic, going through different ranges and vocal cadences while keeping a driving rhythmic feel. Read the lyrics here.
