MVNCH - DSSV2
DSSV2 is an eclectic 8-track Hip hop EP by MVNCH. It was released on October 31, 2021, and it runs for 23 minutes and 10 seconds. It begins with “IMDEADSHAWTY”, which is a menacing banger right off the bat. The track sees him being aware of his surroundings and precautious as he sees the things that are going on around him. Following that is “Nocivilians”, which is a melodic symphony of savagery, as it consists of a harmonic beat and nonchalant lyrics, sung in a manner that is bittersweet, and consistently sets the tone of the track throughout its duration. It also has a dynamic feature from Brickboydior that carries the same energy very well. After that is “SkyRed”, which is a beautiful, chills-inducing lyrical masterpiece with a beat that is emotionally resonant, hard-hitting, and complements the vocals very well. On this track, he goes into his past, reflecting on his upbringing as well as his prospective future, acknowledging his family and friends, speaking about his love life, as well as the people that he has lost in his life. It also features a very strong feature with the same energy and depth from Unseen. The track is profound and introspective, and it is certainly a deep vibe.
The next track is “MockingBirdsDie2”. It is a heavy romantic track with a chilled-out, melodious beat that has a somber melody and smooth drums, with lyrics that are endearing and loving, yet also melancholic and pained. A very nice love song indeed, with wonderful vocal additions on it, and a nice performance overall. “ISS” follows; it is a smooth, hype track with a thumping beat, a catchy melody and chorus, and lots of ironic similes and aware metaphors. It also has a nice feature from CHXPO. After that is “DogShit”, a violent, aggressive hit with a ruthless beat and lyrics to match that same energy, plus excellent features from Thirty Propane and SauxePaxk TB (LLTB). Next up is the wildly psychedelic, witty, and sonically pleasing “A Bad Trip”, with features from Cid Cyan, which delivers beautiful vocals, and TOKYO’S REVENGE, which drops a fun verse. The next and final track on the project is “Bully”, a thumping, callous one with a Wild Western feel to it, and a solid feature from Nashon9K. Overall, the project is dynamic and diverse, with lots to offer in terms of substance and sound.
