He dropped his debut album Big Doodie Lo in 2021 under Only The Family (Lil Durk's collective) and Empire. After taking a brief step back from recording, he has dropped some hard singles recently, building momentum for his upcoming project What Made Me. I asked him about this and much more.

Interview:

Where are you from, and what was your upbringing like?

❝I’m from Kankakee (Illinois), my upbringing was really like big brother. Oldest brother out of all my siblings. I got one older brother but we got different mamas and daddies. My upbringing was really watching over my younger brothers and taking care of them. Jumpin’ off the porch early: 10 years old, 12 years old. Bad ass lil boy runnin’ round.❞

How has your environment impacted your music?

❝If I ain’t go through what I go through, I don’t know what I’d be talking about. Probably be in a choir or something.❞

What does a normal day look like for you?

❝It depends on if I’m busy or not. Wake up, I’m always doin’ somethin’ I’m always networking. Every day, getting to the bag, takin’ care of family, shit like that. My little 6-year-old is vacuuming right now. Tryin’ to show her the way, you know?❞

What motivates you to keep going every day?

❝Making my kids happy, for real. Seein’ them smile. Showin’ them shit I couldn’t see when I was a kid. That’s why I go hands-on and in tune with my fans. When I was young I used to wish I could holler at Lil Wayne and 50 Cent, you feel me? So I might get an iPad and make it just for the fans and put my email so they can call me. They’d love that shit. I’m real hands-on with my fans. Everytime they tell me to not go in the crowd, I go in the crowd.❞

What is your message to the younger generation?

❝This new generation’s so crazy, it’s getting worse and worse. Don’t believe everything y’all see on social media. Everything’s not real, everybody’s not rich. I know people that’ll go and buy an outfit then put it on and take a picture for Instagram, and then go get they money back. It’s cool bein’ whatever you wanna be. Bein’ real is bein’ true to yourself. That’s the message I wanna push.❞
