“BoofBoiIcy - Cut It”
“Cut It” is a brief, laid-back Hip hop track with a trancey, cool beat produced by 100yrd and c0ndo. It makes me feel like I’m sitting in the back seat of a brand new 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, crossed, on the way to a party. Not to mention, the track loops perfectly. Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, BoofBoiIcy is one artist that has been dominating this year in my books. With the releases of “I Just Geek” near the top of the year, Yung Bans-featured “No Codefendant” in mid-June, and his EP I Am Who I Am a week later, he has certainly set himself up for success, even more, this year. Following that up, there were the releases of “Militant” in late July and then finally in early August with the release of the one that I am writing about right now. The tracks “Off White” and the aforementioned “Militant” feature dope visuals. The former was directed by shmitty, the latter was directed and edited by maurtinez, with VFX by banzaitrbl. Both videos portray the energy of the track and the artist and are great pieces of work that extend the dope music that is already there. The same is true for the herroasianman-directed music video for “Real Pit”. “Real Pit” and “Off White” are both off of his latest project, which I failed to mention, is concise, introspective, and wonderful: I Am Who I Am. BoofBoiIcy has already had a year for the books, and it doesn’t seem like he plans on stopping anytime soon. Stream “Cut It” now on all platforms.
