Gravehours - FROM SATURN, WITH LOVE

FROM SATURN, WITH LOVE, released on September 10, 2021, is a beautifully angsty 6-track EP from Gravehours running at 16 minutes and 18 seconds which primarily recounts his experiences with love and pain and how he copes with these things. As a whole, the project is a very insightful look into how being lonely and love-scarred feels as a young person in today’s society. It also functions as a sort of diary for Gravehours. Starting with the saddening, cosmic cut “FIGHT FOR ME”, Gravehours sings about his struggles with who is presumably his partner, as he is willing to fight for them, but they are not willing to do the same for him and does not understand him. Moving on to the second track, “TV-MA (MENTALLY ABSENT)”, Gravehours externalizes his internal emotions into a storm of bars that attempts to synthesize what is going on. Bringing us to “WHATEVER U WANT (LET U GO)”, the third track on the EP and the halfway point, Gravehours struggles with his relationship with said partner and reminisces his experiences with said partner. On the fourth track, “i wna get 2 high (club mix)”, we are thrown into a colorful, bouncy sugar high as Gravehours seemingly gets his mind off of everything for a little bit. The fifth track, which was also released on July 26, 2021, as the lead single for the EP, “LOVE ME”, is a trancey, synthy track with a hype, high energy beat, and depressing, heart-throbbing lyrics. The sixth and final track, “ONTHEROAD” is a savage, energetic one that sees him succeeding and celebrating his current life and success. Overall, the project is a very exciting and insightful, yet mellow and painful one, with lush production, clean mixing, mastering and engineering, and stellar vocals, all done by the artist himself (minus the additional guitar work by dwachs_). The project is certainly worth a listen, go and stream it now on all platforms!
