Lil Motor - Don't Tell Nobody

Don’t Tell Nobody is a Rap mixtape released on September 10th, 2021. It has 13 tracks on it that detail the hardships of Lil Motor and how he manages to overcome and cope with them. It runs for 28 minutes and 58 seconds. The project starts off on a very strong and high note, with the first track, “Neighborhood” striking right off the bat with a hyper beat drop and an explosion of energy. On the track, he goes into his life and past. Then it transitions into one of the tape’s best-performing, lead singles, “Marvin Gaye''. This track is a cinematic one, painting action-movie images in my mind. After this one is “Matt Ryan”, which was another single for the mixtape. It is an exciting track that makes me feel like I am a quarterback in a football game. Then comes “BlackBall'', another single, which is a fun, yet cold track. It also features a very funny line about Caillou, which I personally enjoyed a lot. After that comes, “Go Get It”, a deeply personal, uplifting, and inspirational track about Lil Motor’s past, family, and future. “Push Up”, which has a music video directed by Mykal Taylor, comes next in the mixtape, which is a song with strong optimistic energy, and a cinematic video. “1, 2, 3, 4” follows it, which is a lowkey, savage song with a simple, yet effective beat and melody. After this is “OppStopper”, which also houses the only feature on the project, from Ricky Ruckus. The track is severe and nonchalant, with cutting bars and a somber, hype beat; the feature adds in some more wisdom and energy in the same severe, nonchalant tone. After this is “Henchman”. It is very mysterious and groovy, and it truly does give off henchman vibes. “Sparky” comes after this, which features the artist rapping in both a loud, savage tone, as well as a super-lowkey whisper; the beat is cold and melodic. On the next track, “Never Give Up”, Lil Motor relays the promises that he has made to himself and others, and again covers his past and life; it is moody and sincere. “Drama Queen”, the funky, fierce breakup cut, which was also a single for the tape, follows. This leads into “CNA”, the last track on the mixtape: a high energy, upbeat song with clever lyrics and a fun, catchy beat. Overall, the tape functions as both a collection of fun, upbeat songs to dance or party to, and a series of highly personal tracks about Lil Motor’s life from his perspective. Go and stream Don’t Tell Nobody now!
