YN Drako just dropped a hot song for the Summer with BIGBABYGUCCI
YN Drako recently released a banger for the Summer. For me, it’s been the kind of song that I can just throw on anytime and get amped up. The beat is electric and exciting, with a huge synth and bumping bass. On the track, GUCCI harmonizes with a smooth flow and crisp delivery for the hook, and Drako goes into his past and how it has shaped him into who he is today, along with other important subjects. “CALL ME” was also featured on Spotify’s playlist “Fresh Finds Hip-Hop”. How have you been man?
Good! Been working full-time hours at my new job as a server just to keep the bills paid and fund the music!
You moved recently, how has that been?
Definitely a Huge change. I’d lived in a small room in my homies basement before moving to Raleigh so it feels good to have an actual house now to come home to after a long day.
What inspired the concept behind the song?
For my verse specifically, I brought back a lot of past but current feeling of being slept on but still keeping true to the same man I was when I started. It’s no secret I don’t get many streams, or as much as people feel I deserve; so I addressed that head-on in only the first eight bars. The same idea is touched on again heavily in the bridge.
How did this collab come about?
When GUCCI first started his tour he had a few opens for sale.
How does the song make you feel?
Energetic for sure. I have a “meet me in the mosh” show August 19th that I plan on premiering the song at LIVE for the first time in front of a audience. I felt this was the perfect song for that.
What message or vibe do you want to spread with this one?
GOOD VIBEZ & ENERGY ONLY! This song’s strictly made to be enjoyed with the homies before that night out or on them nights your energy needs a pick up.
What advice do you have for young artists that are just starting out?
HAVE A BUDGET FOR YOUR RELEASE & USE IT WISELY! A lot of artists, myself included, don’t put money behind any of their releases but get surprised when they get zero attention from it. Find what you as an artist need most (for myself I’m focusing most of my budget on things that will get more attention on my Spotify page) and MAXIMIZE it. Find the right people who specialize in helping artists with what you determine you need most and check their track record so you know you’re not being scammed and GO CRAZY! A talented artist with zero strategy is wasted talent.
